For those that need a little help.   IF you are willing to drive to Piqua, OH.    At the corner of South St. & McKinley St. ( stoplight, look to the south east) you will find Chuck's Sharpening Service.

 

Almost any edge that needs sharpened....chainsaws, chisels, knives, plane irons, and handsaws.   Very reasonable. 

 

Note Rt36 coming in from the west, just as you head downhill, there is a T intersection,  this is Mckinley St.   head south until you hit South St.   2nd building. 

Also..he has even less room in his shop, than I do...

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to go there and check it out next week when I go visit my relatives on Ohio.

If you are looking to sharpen you circular blades, check out Quinn Saw.   Very reasonable, even if you have to send your blades too them.   For routine sharpening, they will clean, inspect, serialize, and sharpen your blades.  Very high tech facility.   Danl

They are only circular saw blades so good for Danl to post but those of you with Jointer or TP please see my post.

 

Anyone know of a place that can take a carbide saw blade and

change it from a pos. rake to a neg. rake?

I'm just guessing, but I'd bet (depending on the positive hook angle) that would require removing the existing teeth and replacing them after grinding the blank. I'm sure someone will do it, but it might cost 3-4X as much as buying this. (Notice I linked one that wasn't that hideous red color.)

There is a place, up north of Kenton, OH.    Town called Forrest, OH........where they make saw blades at....might look into what they say.....

I have a 20" swing saw for the saw mill thats a little aggressive.

Thinking it needs a neg hook... 

Guess that 10" blade I linked won't help, huh?

No but thanks... I might take a diamond grind stone to is and see

if I can mess it up myself....
