October 30, 20196 yr Popular Post Had a chance to get in the shop so I put together some scraps I had to make this band saw box.The bulk of the box is African mahogany with a strip of cherry down the middle. As things moved along I got a bit ahead of myself and started to cut the drawers out of the top slider before cutting off the front and back . Found enough cherry to make the front and back of the top slider using the damaged piece as a template. The handles are black walnut.
October 30, 20196 yr Popular Post The box is beautiful, and it’s good to see you making some sawdust!
October 30, 20196 yr Author Popular Post The drawers are flocked. Decided to go with green, though I do have some wine colored flocking.
October 30, 20196 yr Popular Post WOW!!!! Very nice! Good to see you in the shop and making things. Doesn't matter how big or small long as we get shop time all is good.
October 30, 20196 yr Great box. Glad you are getting shop time. BS boxes are cool but I just don't want to tune my saw up to do them.
October 30, 20196 yr I like those Al. Always wanted to do a band saw box but haven't gotten to it yet.
October 30, 20196 yr That's beautiful Al. Glad to see you back at it! What is the overall size of this?
October 30, 20196 yr Very nice, Al. Great wood selection. Those walnut handles are really well done. Is it a Ventura pattern?

October 30, 20196 yr Author That is the only one of her boxes that I haven't made. It just looks like an awful lot of sanding. You did a fantastic job with it. Actually, it's two boxes mounted on a wood base.
