Community News

Recently we had a nice influx of monetary donations by our members, I am happy to announce that we have used those funds to purchase a larger server for our community and we have a little bit of cushion leftover that we'll pump back into our community and to set aside for that emergency situation when someone in need, needs a hand up in life with their shop tooling and materials.

In a separate topic, I'll go into the details of how we used your generous funding. Our future in this community has been secured by purchasing the larger server, we now have a ton of space and more memory, and you may even notice a smoother and quicker web browsing experience in the last few days.

I'm getting ready for Halloween. Stocking up on all the candies I like. Out here in the sticks, we get no trick or treaters. It's all mine to eat.

We're not quite in the sticks but being considered the nut on the hill has it's advantages. :DevilLaughing:

Monday? :WonderScratch:Monday?:ChinScratch:Monday...:Tapping:  Wake me up when Tuesday gets here....then I'll work on that DVD Cabinet project, a bit more....have to change out a bandsaw blade, first.   Old one is burning wood :ArguingSmileys: have some fat feet to cut..

Before I can assemble the base.  Circled item is a pattern...have to cut through the thickened side pieces, too.

Worked a demo last week for 3 days ending Saturday and was wore out. Still not too peppy but started work on a new ornament display for craft shows today and got about half done. Sure do hope it works. Got to decide on how to do the base so not tippy.

A separate thread coming for weekend project.  Widow neighbor happy.

Most  of the weekend was spent making, sanding, engraving, oiling, shipping cutting boards. Wow that felt like I was in that UPS commercial.

I also worked on cutting out a couple of round cheeseboards as prototypes. I had to pass them the the new product selection VP for approval. A small design will be made and the get on with the run.

After I cut this one I notice the board had a split in it.

That one will go into the archives.

After having birthday lunch with my granddaughter my son and I eased away with permission to slip into a blind and look for deer. I got a new video camera and we were hoping to video this hunt. As it turned out we had deer just before dark but they weren’t coming out till dark.

This morning we got another batch of cutting boards cut out and glued and another set out of the clamps and sanded.

Chopped up a bunch of leaves and finished making the Harry Potter wands.  Ended up with 30 total.  Going to make a few wands with more detail for the few kids on the Christmas list.

FINALLY, have Wednesday off from work.  Been 3 weeks of 6 day work weeks.  Had enough, now I can get more done on the saw horse / cathouse project.

Phyl's been in the hospital in Laughlin NV for two days. Seems a blood clot or two formed in her leg and migrated to her lung. She's on a regimen of blood thinners, now. Kinda cut her little vacation short. Hopefully, they'll dismiss her today and she can come home. Won't know till a doctor sees her so

She just called...she's been paroled!!! Everything is good.

Good to hear she can come home.  Hope she is 100% soon.

Good to hear that she is getting out Gene!!!

Glad that she is feeling better!!

Good news indeed Gene!

Glad to hear Gene.

She made it home, seemingly no worse for wear. She's a tough old bird. I think she's going to need a few days of rest, though.

John Moody, really neat cutting boards.  Just wondering if you can saw out that crack, glue it and trim it back to fit into the rest of the board.

John Morris, thanks for another great thread.

Gene, so glad that Phy was paroled.  That was a serious crime.  So glad she is home and doing well.  That is stressful for you as well.

Nice....Really nice!

But, hers was a puky brown, had an over abundance of doors and, a paucity of horses.
