My latest woven basket illusion, a ceremonial basket design that I call Navajo Rain Cross.  The cross symbol can also be found on Navajo rugs and pottery and is often used to represent Spider Woman, the first Navajo deity. The basket is twelve inches in diameter and the wood is maple. Beading, pyrography and ink were used to create the basket illusion.

It was donated to the SWAT 2019 Symposium and selected as an auction item.

(Applause) Man, that is really cool!

Very nice!  A lot of tedious work there.

Wow! Gorgeous.

Truly a piece of art!

Outstanding work!

Amazing artistry.

Amazing artistry.

Now that is a beauty and I know there were many, many hours put into that piece!!!

Yes.  What they all said!

Without the explanation, I would have thought it was woven and beaded.  After reading the explanation, I realize the hours of tedious work and skill to make this bowl have the appearance of weaving and beads.  This is overwhelming work of art and talent.

:Praise:

Really beautiful work
