August 2, 20196 yr "What's It" Basic Rules Reminder For a full run down on this project and rules please go to: "The Patriot Woodworker and MWTCA "What's It" project" Only Patriot Woodworker Members are eligible to participate and receive the award. The MWTCA only accepts a verified source to support your answer, so one should be submitted with your answer, such as a patent, catalog entry, tool book reference, or a respectable website on the subject. Do not let these requirements prevent you from having fun and submitting educated answers on the subject without verification, we can worry about references later. All answers are welcome, as well as healthy debates regarding "What's It". If a verified and referenced answer is not arrived at by the end of each month's "What's It" project, a random draw will be performed for a "One Year MWTCA Club Membership". Only Patriot Woodworker's who participate in this "What's It" topic will be included in the random draw. Ok ladies and gentlemen, we now have our "What's it" live and ready! The image(s) below is a MWTCA "What's It" image for you to research, and tell us all here in this topic post, just what the heck is it! Project Details The information provided hereon is all the information that is provided, no further information on this item will be added.
August 2, 20196 yr This appears to be just part of the tool. Looks like the pivot end of a tool and the business ends were pressed onto the serrated ends which are missing. They appear to completely close making them useless for anything other than a knuckle buster. Edited August 2, 20196 yr by HandyDan
August 2, 20196 yr May have been some type of measuring tool and the thumb screw would be tightened to hold position. Edited August 2, 20196 yr by HandyDan
August 2, 20196 yr A measuring devise with the notched ends going into a channel. Maybe to set a spacer to tool against the devise like a spacer.
August 2, 20196 yr Wire winder...there is a "feeder" hole going through the block on the leg closest to the camera....pass the wire through, give the tool a few turns, and the wire end goes onto a terminal...How big a loop is set by how wide the legs are spread....Then, to release the "coil" just close the legs back up. Might be a tool made by Klein?
August 3, 20196 yr Like Dan, it first occurred to me that it was a set of dividers until I saw the ends. Now, I have no clue and anxiously await the answer.
September 4, 20196 yr and here it is september already and i have no idea what this is (or, is part of...?)
