The transformer will turn a short chunk of wire RED HOT. That wire will slice right through a glass bottle. You can adjust the transformer so the wire does not burn off. Report

October 3, 20196 yr comment_203725 Most train transformers are only around 12 volts. You cant get shocked put the wire will burn you quick... Nichrome wire works the best and I use 26 gauge. Report

Old electric heater element or a hair dryer element are sources for the wire. They are meant to get hot. Can even use the controls from them too. Report
