July 17, 20196 yr Cool! I did the same thing only used discarded HDPE cutting board material from a friends restaurant. Glue doesn't stick to the plastic.
July 17, 20196 yr Gene I like that and so much so I have been using this type for a very long time... I like the clamps in the first picture best especially when edge gluing boards. It keeps the clamping area high enough so I can get my long vise grips with special home made pads to keep the boards in line while the glue sets up... The long boards are 8" long with two small screw in them and the clamps to keep things together.. I then put special long pads on the ends of the V18sp vise grips to keep the boards lined up better so not as much drum sanding later.
July 17, 20196 yr Author Jesse, those longer legs and, the vice grips for the alignment boards are great ideas.
July 17, 20196 yr Gene I bought the strap 3/8" wide x 1/8" thick from Muller Metal building supply and a regular vise and a hammer is all you need.. and the pin is a double headed nail I use in concrete forming. The long pads work good keeping three narrow boards in line and the slickum material came from Walmart.

July 18, 20196 yr @Gerald Like the idea of no drilling thru the clamp metal ends. Love how your clamp storage is over the work area. Very handy!
July 25, 20196 yr Mine are Masonite cut out for the pipe and hot-glued to the clamp (or maybe carpet tape--can't remember it's been so long)
