Popular Post Mijohnson1984 Posted April 19, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Well I said I would post some spindles I had turned so here’s a couple of handles and a mallet. I don’t expect the mallet to last. Well not the head anyway. I plan on replacing it with a brass one once I get enough brass to melt. lew Posted April 19, 2019 Report Posted April 19, 2019 Awesome turning! Looking forward to seeing the brass work, too! Cal and Mijohnson1984 1 1 Quote
Mijohnson1984 Posted April 20, 2019 Author Report Posted April 20, 2019 The rock maple would be nice but I need a brass knocker for setting irons. But that might be to big for that anyway. I’ve melted plenty of aluminum and glass for various things. Brass shouldn’t be to different. Just need to make some new green clay for a mold. Gunny, lew, Cal and 1 other 4 Quote

Thank you but to be honest the ebony and ivory spindle is the only one that actually has a finish on it. I sanded her up with micro mesh because I’m going to work on learning French polishing technique. Figured I’m going to be putting some abuse to it so I don’t care if it doesn’t look great. So why not practice on it. Rather mess up on that then on a finished project. Gunny, Cal, FlGatorwood and 1 other 4 Quote
