Here we are the weekend before tax deadline. Thankfully mine are done and been done. Hope you aren't spending the weekend with taxes and get to spend some time in the shop.

Wow we had temps here yesterday in the upper 80's. Seems like we are going from frost a few weeks ago to summer and skipping over spring. I desperately needed to spend some time with John Deere today but it looked like rain when I got home and didn't jump on. That may be a job for tomorrow afternoon.

This week I got the laser hooked up and working on the CNC machine and can now put my logo on my cutting boards and other items without having to use the branding iron.

I was pretty amazed at how well this worked and it's only a 2.5 watt laser. I have a 40 watt one, but it is in a cabinet and is so limited by what size you can put in and it will only allow an inch thickness. So having this one on the CNC gives me much more room and height.

It did equally well on the end grain boards as it did on the edge grain. Now I have a stack that will need to be done this weekend so they will be ready to go.

We are full go right now on cutting boards, cheese boards and Bread boards.

We also finished a nice set of custom Cornhole Boards today. They will go out tomorrow.

Plans are to shoot in another GSSF match tomorrow and I'm doing the scoring so middle of the day will be taken.

So what's your plans for this mid-April weekend? We always love to see the projects you are working on and pictures of the progress. Share your weekend agenda with us.

Whatever you do this weekend, be safe and have fun!

In Louisiana for my sisters surprise 80 birthday party. Supposed to be 90 %rain tomorrow

Have five 10 watt LED floodlamps that have failed after 3-4 years of service.  So replacing them with newer 20 watt ones that claim to be more reliable.  I was impressed when I contacted the company and shared my experience and disappointment with what I saw as poor durability.  Gave me a nice discount on the newer ones.

Too many Honey-Do items to go through...

My flooring/kitchen project continues.  Following early week rains, the contractor came Wednesday and jumped into the project with both feet.  Rim joist replaced, kitchen floor joists replaced, a section of wall replaced, window and one door changed out.

I will spend some of my Saturday caulking the foam insulation and OSB sheathing and otherwise prepping for expected severe storms coming through Sunday.  Birthday parties for niece and her husband's two boys this afternoon.

Today is this months dinner with my siblings.  Always a good time.  Steve showed his version of the "Decorating Elf" in his honey dipper thread.  I'm working on one for myself.  Here is a video of how it works.  Not mine.

Wow! You guys have been busy. Cal, that remodel is looking great. Moody's work, as usual, is prolific and superb.

I've got another wine box underway. Trying out some new jointing techniques. After it's clamped up, I'll start to work on Herb's bugs. Herb, they should be ready to send next week.

That alone is worth the new Laser!

@HandyDan looks like great minds think alike!! Where did you find your cutter? I was hoping to find something local but so far no luck.

I have started on this pear tree.  I meant to do it during the winter, but the queen had other ideas.  Anyway, this is what I got done yesterday while waiting for the grandchildren to get home from school.  After they get home, I bring them to our house and cook supper for them.  Anyway, the white oak tree you seen in that youpon will go right after the underbrush is removed.  But, the lawnmower comes home on Monday and I will mow either then or Tuesday.  Then tie a rope to the top of that tree and tension it with the lawnmower.  youpon is probably spelled wrong.  I can't remember and spell check is no help.:(  Anyway here are pictures from yesterday. Cleaned out 2 sides of the tree and put into pile for the fire.

Definitely.  We still have a layer of foam insulation and the vinyl siding to put up.  It got late on us Friday, so we stopped at this point.

Thanks Stick, we were on different pages.  I am pretty confident that the flashing will be installed, but I will be sure to have it on hand when they get back on Thursday.

We survived yesterday in good shape, although there was no sideways rain that we expected.
