I would suggest you make a t insert to do this, fancy yes but gives the middle more meat. The dado stack idea is sound. I don't use this method myself I have a twin TS set up with one side set for dado work specifically. I have a ZCI on the TS so I use this jig as a cross cut sled. Sorry the pic is for the single blade, too lazy to go and make another pic of the one used for dado's. Granted not much use BUT ready when needed and less set up time. Nothing wrong with some garage engineering. Come up with something new. You may like it, you may say what was I thinking. Don't know until you give it a try. Plenty of people told me mating two TS together would never work. See below, it does and works well. Twin TS set up

Dave bought the thing at some airshow last month. Said he got a deal, and got another 5% with his Senior Discount. Edited March 27, 20197 yr by Woodbutcherbynight
April 10, 20197 yr Author Got it built....used designs and build techniques from several different plans. It measures 27" (front to back) X 30" (side to side). It's not too heavy but I have seen lots of designs that have cut-outs and curves to lighten the sled and also provide hand holds for putting it on and taking it off the saw. I'm trying to decide where to put the curves and cutouts. Suggestions?

Mine sit inside drawers right below switch side of TS. Open drawer grab unit and you are ready to go. My larger one is not so accessible. It is across the shop but the size was made for where I store it, for the moment anyway. Was my first one, learned a lot since then. @Bearpaw gave me tips as I went. Been a few years since first one. He was right though, I should have started using one much earlier.
