Here is a sorta mock up of the frame. Dados will lock everything together.

 

 

This is the stack to be dado'd.

 

The dados gotta be precise. This is the array of those blasted number gadgets I used to simply find center for the dado depth. Actually only needed that I Gauging thingie to get the exact thickness. Halved that reading and set the micrometer to that. Got a knife mark on a spare piece to set the blade depth.

Still need to make a trip to the "city" so, more to come, probably tomorrow.

It's all good. Pic order in this instance isn't as important as the piece itself.

What's the significance of the tree if you don't mind me asking? Is it as simple as a family tree, or some other meaningful reason?

You got it. The names are our two sons, their wives and, our three grandkids.

Glad I milled a few extra sticks. The first practice dados were too narrow. After careful adjustment, the next attempt was too wide. When  get it dialed in, I'll post pics of the set up. Probably Wednesday, though. Seeing?? an optometrist tomorrow.

BTW, this is going to be cool...great way to "frame" the tree engraving.

Got in a hurry. Didn't get pics of my set up. Frames are glued and in clamps. Tommorrow, finish goes on. Then pics. 

May have spoken too soon. Seems that something I ate has caused me to need to stay close to the commode today. probably, all that tofu.

Maybe this afternoon, if the Immodium kicks in.
