February 21, 20197 yr Popular Post With all the stuff going on, I finally got my Brand New Saw Stop contractor saw all put together. I had it all in my garage for some time in boxes. I had to put it aside as I needed to get all of my tools and stuff out of the tubs and onto some new shelves and get my wife's stuff in order so she can put the car in the garage. So here are a few pics of the new table saw with the mobile base which works really good.
February 21, 20197 yr Looks "right smart" in it's new home Allen. I'm sure you are planning to do so, but best to get a couple good coats of wax applied. Extremely humid weather (much more so than you've been accustomed) is just around the corner for your region. That weather brings it's evil twin, oxidation/rust, to seek and destroy nice shiny surfaces and haze over the painted ones. Should be plenty of quality hardwood available in your area. Likely several independent sawyers with portable bandsaws. So, what's the first project?

February 22, 20197 yr Looks like a great set-up Allen. What happens to the side extension when you move it around?

The Saw Stop has a good mobile base set up. Once you put together the metal frame that the saw sets on, you attach the mobile base to the metal frame that lifts the saw. I used a folding table to do the assembly of the frame and mobile base on as it is not heavy. Then you have to put the saw itself onto the the stand. So I picked up the stand and mobile base and set it on the floor. Once it was on the floor I was able get the saw mated to the stand. The saw weighs 140 pounds so it was not fun doing it by myself. The mobile base that is attached to the saw base will lift the saw fine and the extension table is attached to the saw and rails. So when you push the foot pedal whatever is attached to the table saw will lift at the same time. Then you spin it around in circles with the swivel castors. Easy-Peasy.
February 23, 20197 yr Thats a great saw Allen, who gets to test it first with a hot dog "just kidding" ---- Congratulations on the new house!
February 25, 20197 yr Popular Post I’m predicting years, and projects, of happiness. I hope you get plenty of time in the near future to get acquainted with your new friend.
March 3, 20197 yr Well Three Cheers for you~!!! Now you gotta take the MoMO challenge and shove your hand into the blade. It's a rule, every one with a ss has to do it or MOMO will get them in their sleep In fact it's the reason I didn't get one. I am terrified of MOMO Nice saw.
