January 28, 20197 yr Popular Post Got to final fit the semi-circular fireplace mantle that Izvestia been building. Today I’m going to run over to Ohio to check out a Dewalt 735 planer to supplement or replace my Delta 22-580. Really would like to have a 15” machine but I’m out of shop space.
January 28, 20197 yr Popular Post I am wrapping up a few odd jobs around the house and yard before I begin this years house remodel. Likely try to pull the carpet up in the living room this week to check the condition of the particle board underlayment and for level. Got all the furniture moved out or stacked on one the end of the room without carpet.
January 28, 20197 yr Popular Post Subbing at school most of the week. Eye doctor appointment squeezed in there, too.
January 28, 20197 yr Popular Post Installing some switched outlets in the basement. Have been shopping for new leds and decided to go with @Woodbutcherbynight recommendation from Amazon. Price & reviews are good. Good inhouse project for an anticipated stretch of sub-zero temps.

January 28, 20197 yr Popular Post Weekend: normal activities plus attended the High School Homecoming basketball games and activities. My wife & daughter (and soon, oldest grand-daughter) all graduated from there. It didn't exist when I graduated. All after game activities were cancelled due to the winter weather conditions. Anyways now adjusting to a new life with "royalty" in our midst Oldest grand-daughter was elected Winter Homecoming Queen. Picture of her and the new "King." Her boyfriend was nominated for King also...he wasn't elected. I reminded the "Queen" she still had to do her assigned chores though. Week ahead: Survive the brutal cold for the next 4 days. Will see double digit below zero days and a couple with high temperatures single digit below zero. State Swim Sectional tourney individual prelims are scheduled for Thursday night, diving prelims Friday night, with relay teams, individual and diving finals for Saturday. Edit add: almost forgot, Woodworking Show at Indy next weekend; might possibly attend on Friday depending on the weather...I'm not walking in sub-zero temps. Apparently PeachTree isn't there this year. Edited January 28, 20197 yr by Grandpadave52 typo

Even the "new queen" knows who the (grand)mother queen is and it's never wise to invoke her wrath. Edited January 29, 20197 yr by Grandpadave52 typo

O she don't need a bell. I'm sitting right next to her within distance of that whip she has. She had her other knee replaced 3 years ago so she knew what she was getting into but they always say the first knee isn't to bad when you have it done but that second knee replacement can be worse. And this one is. It's still early after surgery. Just takes time to heal.
