DIY... super fine stone in your grinder or use your WorkShop or belt sander or disk sand ... keep the paper hyper fine... load the bit in a drill.. turn the drill on to full speed.. put it's pointed edge against the side of a grinder or sander... Make sure not to place the tip against the grinder... place the side of the pointed edge against the abrasive at a slight angle briefly... do not put the side of the bit to the abrasive or you you'll change the dia of the bit. Think sharpening a pencil with the shavers revolving around the tip to get rid of the wood.

Herb positive... really dull ones.. dress the lands w/ a jeweler's file... on small dia bits.. why bother.. I like the German made bits from Woodcraft, LeeValley's lipped tip bits and Freud... but if you want to move to the head of the class for USA made - Fuller Tools, Norseman, and Montana,.... Good places to shop for more USA made - Alfa Tools, and Travers .... HF is not your friend here... https://thepatriotwoodworker.com/forums/topic/19650-brad-point-bits-recommendations/?tab=comments#comment-106950 Edited January 17, 20197 yr by Stick486
