January 1, 20197 yr Popular Post Here's my latest project, a heart shaped box with a sliding dovetail in the lid with a heart shaped pin to hold the lid in place. 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 3/4. The hardest part is cutting a dovetail in 1 1/2 Boxelder (maple).
January 1, 20197 yr Wow, such fine work on such a small box boggles the mind. Execution is brilliant. Keep 'em coming.

January 1, 20197 yr Too me that would be like making a wooden watch, you must have great eyesight and a steady hand, Great job,I like the design. Herb
January 1, 20197 yr Kudos Wichman...VERY impressive from every aspect. Thanks for sharing...and once this is done & finished, make sure you put in the gallery.
January 1, 20197 yr Author The original pattern was for a much larger bandsaw box, but I don't have a bandsaw. So, I shrunk the pattern until it would fit the scrollsaw. I'm using the Flying Dutchman FD-Cor No 3 blade. Just had a thought, I'm going to put a small magnet under the pin and a short metal rod in the pin. This will help hold the pin in place.

Excellent adaptation...magnet idea will be a nice touch. If you're planning to incorporate these into your product line, I'd suggest you have several made in advance...these will sell like hot-cakes IMHO. Will make very unique gift boxes for jewelry.

Yeah, I've got several orders already, shipping cost is likely going to be a deterrent. This one presold to a coworker before he even saw a finished product.
January 1, 20197 yr Very nice! I’m guessing when you were a kid, you were an expert playing the Operation game.
