  1. I guess this is more of my shop hiding these little pieces that some how fall off another project. Here I was tooling along throwing saw dust all over and look up and realize the top part of that little heart on top of this spoon is missing... I did a complete cleaning of the entire shop and nothing to show for that effort....but I did find a few things off of other projects that have been missing over the years.. I have found in the past to forget looking for the pieces and go on and cut out another piece, glue it in and forget about the miss hap.. But for some strange reason I wasted about 1 day cleaning and looking... and so in the end I did glue in more wood. Funny for I did find the center of that heart I cut out yesterday which I don't need..
  2. So we have family relatives celebrating their 60’th anniversary in November. I decided to make them a heart with their names and the year 1959 on it. I haven’t finished it yet. Woodcraft had a nice wide piece of wood, so I bought it. It is Guanacaste, I think it is also known as Parota, I don’t like it. So far I have worked with Cherry, Poplar, and Baltic birch. This stuff doesn’t seem to cut cleanly, lots of fuzzies, I’m hoping I like it better after it’s finished. Don’t think I’m gonna buy any more. Guess it’s time to learn how to glue up boards.

    Heart box

Here's my latest project, a heart shaped box with a sliding dovetail in the lid with a heart shaped pin to hold the lid in place. 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 3/4. The hardest part is cutting a dovetail in 1 1/2 Boxelder (maple).

This is another Heart cross of the same design as the last just a different color.

This design was a suggestion form my wife. She supervise every step of it's design so it would look how she had pictured it in her mind. Again this is an enlargement of a jewelry model.
