November 25, 20187 yr i ordered those pulls via Amazon. they showed up eventually, and they didn't seem as heavy as others i've bought before from Lowes for our kitchen a few years ago. sure enough, they are hollow. and they came with short screws. i needed longer ones, as i'm going thru 2 layers of 3/4 plywood to attach them. go check my spare bin. hmmm....not enough that are long enough. and then i take a close look at the screws that were supplied compared to the ones i have. uh oh. different pitch. these are not the common 8-32 screws. since they were made in China, i'm guessing they are metric. pull out my tap and die set, do a little checking, and find out that the screws (and of course the matching holes they go into) are 4mm x 0.7 pitch. looks like 40mm long will do. off to Lowes. go to hardware. go to Metric screw section. hey! there they are: 4mm x 0.7 pitch x 45mm long. perfect. need 24, which is 4 packages of 6 each. no leftovers. love it. the things you have to think about when you get China made stuff.

Factor in the time and other resources spent chasing the needed hardware and was Amazon really less expensive (we already know it is cheaper...)? And if Lowes had not had the right screws... I needed some old timey gear lube last week. Could not find it locally and could not find any place locally that could order it for me. Found it on Amazon for $40!!! for a gallon with free shipping. Found it on Rock Auto for $7/quart. Four quarts ordered, with shipping ran about $37. But I digress. That is a super looking cabinet Dab.
November 26, 20187 yr even with the trip to Lowes, i had other things i needed to get as well, i'm still ahead. i knew they had metric hardware, so just a matter of getting the matching sizes.
November 26, 20187 yr Still working on Christmas items. Here are some ball and catch games for the kids.
