Popular Post Ron Altier Posted October 23, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted October 23, 2018 I saw an interesting way to glue a cracked board. The piece was cracked at the end with a crack about 8 inches long. The guy had opened it just enough to get a piece of dental floss thru. He put glue in and on the crack and ran the floss back and forth to spread the glue thru the crack. I will have to try this one, I think it can work. Cal, Artie, PeteM and 3 others 6 Quote
Popular Post lew Posted October 23, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted October 23, 2018 I've used the shop vac trick. Apply the glue to the top of the board on the crack and put the shop vac hose on the other side of the board over the crack. The suction pulls the glue into the crack. Popular Post PeteM Posted October 23, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted October 23, 2018 This is why I visit this site! Great ideas. If I put the vac in one ear and suck the dental floss through the other ear, will it improve my memory so I remember this tip? Dadio, Artie, Grandpadave52 and 6 others 1 7 1 Quote

Smallpatch Posted October 24, 2018 Report Posted October 24, 2018 (edited) I have a rubber tipped blo gun and this works for me and sometimes there is no other side where I could use a vac. And if I don't want the extra glue on the surface I use these 12" long feeler gauges that go down to .0015 for the really thin cracks... BillyJack Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 I'll have to keep the floss trick in mind. Usually if i can spread it I can get a syringe in it. lew and Gunny 2 Quote
