I saw an interesting way to glue a cracked board. The piece was cracked at the end with a crack about 8 inches long. The guy had opened it just enough to get a piece of dental floss thru. He put glue in and on the crack and ran the floss back and forth to spread the glue thru the crack. I will have to try this one, I think it can work.

I've used the shop vac trick. Apply the glue to the top of the board on the crack and put the shop vac hose on the other side of the board over the crack. The suction pulls the glue into the crack.

This is why I visit this site!  Great ideas.

If I put the vac in one ear and suck the dental floss through the other ear, will it improve my memory so I remember this tip?

I wouldn't try it, Pete. Dental floss is a removal device.

Well, finally a use for dental floss. Thanks for posting, I am going to try that, if I can find any dental floss.

Hope he has unwaxed floss.  I use an air gun to drive glue in.

No, just skeletons:rolleyes:

I have a rubber tipped blo gun and this works for me and sometimes there is no other side where I could use a vac.

And if I don't want the extra glue on the surface I use these 12" long feeler gauges that go down to .0015 for the really thin cracks...

Now those I can make...usually need 3 or 4 good 8 foot 2x4's to make a batch, but I'm getting better at it.:cowboy:

Can't have it  on the surface.  It's gotta be inside the crack  then the air drives it deeper

I use a 6" fire hose between my ears!

The dental floss remove the air and gives room for the glue...

I'll have to keep the floss trick in mind. Usually if i can spread it I can get a syringe in it.
