Been working at changing the florescent light over to L.E.D.  Have a few more to do.  They are brighter but the best part is there is no hum.  Need to get the leaf collector on the back of the mower too.

Where did you get the lights? How long are they? Ballast used or no?

I'm in the market for 8 footers. Need 8 of 'em. Mine are getting a little dark on the ends.

THIS is the place I get mine , but I see 8 foot can be expensive. Cheaper to buy a cheap 4 foot fixture at walmart and take the ballast out and use LED lights in it. I usually pay between 11 and 13 dollars for the no ballast lights in 2400 lumen and 4000K color temperature.

    Have most of the shop rearrange done. Now to finish the new drawer unit for lathe tools and get some turning done.

Wow! $80 per bulb. It would be a lot of work but, the 4' ones might be a solution.

I have all four footers.  The Home Depot had the bulbs in stock at $12.95 each bulb and no shipping since in store stock.  They are direct wire and the ballast is eliminated.  Comes with instructions which amounts to removing the ballast and the wires from one end of the bulbs and running a hot and neutral to the other end.  The bulbs are marked which end goes to the wired side.  The bulbs also come with new tombstone ends which need to be used if replacing T8 bulbs.  The T8 tombstone ends are shunted but the T12 are not so the T12 do not need replaced.  Doesn't take long to do and I love the results.  The store SKU# is 1001716707 for the bulbs.  Below is a link to the bulbs used.

I get my 48" ones from the same place Gerald does, but seems there is a price difference.

The ones I get you have a choice of ballast rewiring or not. I just replace them W/O re wiring the ballast. Except a couple where the ballast was dead, I had to rewire. just plug and play.

Dan those are only 1700 lumen and therefore about a third less bright that the ones I bought. That also affects the price.

@Dadio

Your bulb is 3900 lumen and almost twice the brightness of mine . Seems the price goes up rapidly with lumen increases

@Gerald

The ones I posted a link for were the 8' for Gene, the ones I bought were these 4' plug and Play ones: https://www.earthled.com/collections/t8-t12-led-fluorescent-tube-lights-compatible-with-magnetic-and-electronic-ballasts

Only when I bought them a year ago they were $8.44 ea/100, I have the old florescent in there now and as they or the ballast burn out, I can just replace them. Already have replaced about 8 bulbs. I have 78 bulbs in the shop.
