KP twice. peeled potatoes using a power peeler, but the worst was washing pots and pans. Our friends in the Carolinas are in for a serious storm .Hope everyone takes the necessary precautions.

Never had KP (not including as a kid), but when i was in high school one of my part-time jobs was washing all the baking pans for an old German baker who was real particular about having them clean.   Straight TSP and hot water and lots of elbow grease.   All for the munificent sum of $1 per hour (back when minimum wage was $1.25 - my wages at Big Boy were even lower)...:(

I believe the Air Force paid a lot less than that back in the 50's. My first job in a hat manufacturing factory in 1947 paid 60 cents an hour.

Thanks for the post John. Spent half the afternoon blowing up a couple blanks on lathe, then turned some bell ornaments. Got a couple coats of poly on the step stool.

Back in '67 I worked in a ranger camp 'way up north. We took turns on KP. My favourite job... no biting, stinging, blood-sucking insects, no bears, less strain on the back, and we could snack all day long! :D

John

Oh, did I mention we were paid the princely sum of $5.00 a day?
