September 25, 20187 yr Author So...I can only assume that most of you have graduated from mortising attachment to dedicated mortiser. Well...I'm going to learn from others... I have decided to scrap the idea of using the WT with the attachment and will "go to the head of the class" and go straight to a mortiser. I have plenty of time to shop as I have not yet moved into what will be my future home...a small house and a big barn in the back. The barn/large garage will be my shop. Timing is likely to be next spring...plenty of time to find a good used mortiser. Top of the list for searches are Jet and Powermatic. Have seen several on Craigslist and eBay so checking both from time to time will yield a good deal Thanks so much for your feedback...Nick
October 29, 20187 yr Nick, Depends on how many mortises you plan on cutting. And the space you have available for more machines. Personally I think that using a machine for as many purposes as possible is the way to go. Edited October 30, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
