Made these "word art" desk name plates for my dentist and his staff. The other two are for one of our Pastors for his new office and the other is for our youth pastor.

Excellent. I'll bet they were all very happy to get them.

Very nicely done.  They will be appreciated

Edited this topic for ya Harry, looks good my friend. What type of lumber did you use?

  • Author

I used 3/4" poplar with a med walnut Danish finish.

Made the pattern with notepad.

Harry, I like how you put the letters all together. That solves trying to glue them on wood one letter at a time....I use to do the hair pulling contest every time I tried!!

Great work, Harry

Another great application to use is Inkscape.  Inkscape Home Page

Oh, did I mention it is FREE and there are great FREE tutorials on how to use it.

Gimp is another good FREE program. But, like inkscape, there's a steep learning curve.

If you are running Microsoft 10 Word Pad is already loaded and on older Microsoft 8 and 7 and so on they are there also.. It will have the word word somewhere in the heading... This is where all my letters and numbers come from. Dingle Berries has lots of character and fancy fonts I use also.

Whups, dingle berries use to be free, sorry!!!
