July 6, 20188 yr Popular Post Indedendence Day 2018 is now in the books and all of the dogs are beginning to calm down. Fortunately, our heat wave has broken here in Indiana also. Grandpa Dave, did I pick a good year to install a new HVAC system, or what! It’s been a slow week in the shop. I built and delivered a double sided map case to a friend and it was a labor of love. We decided to make it a desk mount, though. Nothing planned for the shop for me this weekend. How about y’all. What’s on Your Weekend agenda?
July 6, 20188 yr That came out great Ron. I hope they have a good interior location for it. My agenda? I continue to plug along on the stairway remodel. Interrupted by periods of lawn work, errand running and so on. Probably do a lot of lawn & garden chores this weekend.

July 6, 20188 yr Love that map case, Ron! Not much here woodworking here. The fireworks on Wednesday were postponed until Saturday night. That means another house full of company as we are ground zero for the municipal fireworks display.
July 6, 20188 yr Got a goblet with 2 rings turned yesterday and more of the same today. That was in cherry but have been working with some live oak branches from the neighbors tree. Got started on tung oil for some of the live oak yesterday.

At least it (HVAC) will get a reprieve the next 2 or 3 days... The map display looks great and especially appropriate for it's content. I like it a lot. Like you and others, hope the owners have a good display area away from any windows (UV) and not to close to heat/cooling ducts. A great story within that case along with a great history. You honored both extremely well.
July 6, 20188 yr Finished all the mowing from last week this past Sunday...started all over again Monday evening and finished up Wednesday just ahead of the fireworks display, oh and the ~4" of rain we received yesterdayWith the much cooler weather forecast for the next 3 days, I need to pull maintenance on the mower(s) today & tomorrow. Lots of trimming on the agenda also. Try to get get some garage cleaning & organizing done too.

July 6, 20188 yr Popular Post Yesterday my son and I got the Shaker Style five panel door dry fit. This is morning we got it glued and clamped. Now just waiting on glue to dry then a final sanding. Customer is going to paint it and hang it with barn door hardware. I got a new bench in my gun room and setup my Dillion loader along with my RCBS loader. And a smaller bench to clean and work on my guns. Tomorrow I’ll be at the range grilling burgers for Burgers and Bullets on the first Saturday of the month. That’s about it for my weekend.
