June 9, 20187 yr Popular Post My neighbor had some tree work done and I caught the cutters and asked for the river birch and the limbs they took off a live oak. Doing some hollow forms with the oak and it has some great grain and dark lines . this is just the turn to finish. Had to allow to dry a few days to sand well as the wet end grain did not sand well.
June 9, 20187 yr Author Turned wet to finish. Have another that gave me a problem. Turned down to about 1/8 and a little square just popped out of the end grain. It does have a crack but I have never had a piece come out like that.
