Reviving Steven Newman's Table of Leftovers, I was perusing our galleries and this oldie caught my eye, posted to our gallery in 2015, our community neanderthal builder made a wonderful table.

Thanks John for posting @steven newman's table...I had not seen that before. His ability to stretch material into something useful, practical and pleasing to look at in a minimalist manner is amazing.

Love the weathered bench, the lathe and especially the wooden flywheel; the floor is pretty cool too...That's craftsmanship...also see one of your rockers ;)peering in from the left edge of the picture.

Weekend, nothing productive; all four grand-kids sick with something or other...watched some of the IHSAA, Class 3 & 4 Regional BB games on Saturday and some of the NASCAR race at Phoenix yesterday.

As for the week ahead, TBD. Normal daily routines. Supposed to see a break from winter by the EOW so maybe will be able to do something productive.

Spent a long weekend in the big city of Portland - Jeff Dunham concert on Thursday night, Portland Zoo and OMSI on Friday, Cabela's on Saturday. Then we stopped off and visited with the MIL and got home around midnight Saturday (1 am with the time change). Also stopped by both the Rockler and Woodcraft stores. Overall, a very nice weekend.

repaired furniture...

Monday...about says it all:angry:

Removed the clamps from the drawer late last night, and slid the drawer into the case..snug fit....need to clean the drawer up and install the knobs

This afternoon is shot..MRI on me head @ 1415 hrs....Maybe they will find that mythical Single Brain Cell Sketch Up?:rolleyes:

Delivered the river table. They were happy with it. Attended a baby shower for our newest grandchild. Gender as yet unknown. My bet is female.

Starting on a new rifle case of olive wood.

Hope so ,here they don't have genders any more, Gene.

Over the weekend I worked on a small set of drawers to go under my new sander in the metal stand.

We finished this afternoon gluing the last of the sections for the Maple Island top. When we square it up it will be 48” wise x 8’3” long and 1 1/2” thick.

Over the weekend I got the mortises and tennis cut for this screen door. It is just over 7’ y’all and 39” wide.

This was a dry fit. Should get it glued tomorrow when we get the island out of the clamps.

Tall right? Not to be confused with y'all:lol:

Gonna' take two men and a boy to move that island top. That devil is gonna' be heavy. Of course we want pictures when that's installed.:)

Gonna need a John Deere to move it. Or at least 2 men and a boy.  Is that maple for the screen door ?

Still working toward retirement. B)

That is sure a Big un, John, get some help from a young buck to wrestle it around.

That lathe looks like it would be a workout just to do one item. Got a busy week ahead. Put lacquer on several items I have been working on. Tomorrow will go to Stew Pot to serve lunch and then in PM to see dentist to get crown installed. Wednesday will go to set up boot at artisan marketplace an in PM security duty at church. Work at drugstore Thursday and I am already tired just typing it in.

Yeah, that too, but I want pictures of you moving the top.  Barring an injured back, that could be entertaining.  :P

I'll watch again, but I think you missed a spot.:D

Whole lot of sanding going on there. I definitely need one of those "speed sander" set-ups.:P

Gonna be one beautiful top for someone!
