When applying a finish, it's critical to have good light to see if you have applied not too thick, not to thin, just right.  Back light at a low angle is critical to see the flaws and defects.   Here's my light box that I use where I finish.

Is that just a remodeled troffer light? Looks like it has fluorescent tubes (?). Good idea, much better than trying to use a spotlight lamp.

I actually got it from a customer (moving & delivery) who had a national Red Box contract for installation.  They'd regularly have two to three units sitting in the warehouse that had been run into by a car or truck.
