Good son...I'm sure they highly valued that piece.

They did.  One of my sisters is loving it now since mom passed.

I built a chicken coop out of pallets last year.  A lot of work to get them apart.   And I did not do any cutting/planing/etc.  Everything as it came off and put on somewhere else.

Best use of pallet wood yet. I'm sure the chickens don't mind, either.

Good Lord! That's expensive. But, no nails, no worries about prior uses. And, it's pre finished. :P

I enjoy reclaiming lumber.  Pallets not so much and nothing painted unless it is special.  I built this clock with the cross ties from wire spools when a cell tower was being erected.  It was three foot pieces of 4/4 Southern Yellow pine.  No paint and no nails.  Free and there was enough that I built my parents one too.

Dan, that clock is exquisite! Absolutely off the "Awesome coolness charts". The color is gorgeous, what a wonderful project. Speaking of the color, how did you achieve it? Also, any of the items to right of the clock your doing as well?

Thank you.  That is my own design.  The wood (Southern Yellow Pine) had a lot to do with the color but I did use Minwax Colonial Maple stain on it.  I made the TV tables but the rocker is there because it was my mothers.

Wow... I just now saw that clock, Dan. That is a thing of beauty. Really exquisitely done.

You liked the clock, how about a quarter sawn White Oak desk.  Reclaimed door trim and baseboard from a building down town Youngstown that was being torn down.  Back then blades sets for the planer were about $15.00 a set and I used two set to reclaim the White Oak for this.  The printer cabinet has a slide out drawer for the printer.

That is awesome, Dan.

Fantastic @HandyDan...great save & reuse of material.

The clock lamp ain't half bad either!:)

Thanks for sharing some of your flat work. Got more?

The 2 Lowes in Abilene has a place outside with their new warped stuff for sale. I'm not an un-warper and for sure don't want to burn pine in the fireplace...

The woodworking club just bought 4 truckloads of lumber & dowels, some 8' some 2' all hardwoods like walnut, maple, cherry from a guy who is retiring from the wooden toy business.   Gosh, it was so dusty in that shop you could see it in the air.  Got the wood rack and I'm leaving now to pressure wash all the dust and grit off it.

Relative to this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Crates-Pallet-Full-Pallet-Reclaimed-Parts-Only-94721/203837921, I think we got a deal for $400.
