Guys, since I have to take it a little easy for the short-term future and I seem to learn better from  visual input can you sugest some of your favorite YouTube WW. I have subscribed to most of the more well known ones but am looking for any rare or new ones I might not have heard of.

I enjoy most everything I've seen from Paul Sellers...usually the right mix of telling & doing w/o all the drama and video add-ons..

Stumpy Nubs for some things but sometimes way too much yaking and little substance IMHO.

Woodworking for Mere Mortals-Steve Ramsey; sometimes too much drama here too.

WoodworkWeb

Izzy Swan

Rob Cosman

A lot of free videos, tips, etc. at The Woodworkers Guild of America site (George Vondriska); but also a You-tube Channel

TPW very own @Steve Krumanaker for turning...

April Wilkerson for some DIY/woodworking...she's come a long way since her launch...has some good project ideas from time-to-time

Often times, I just randomly search for an area of interest or subject or tool, see what pops up then drift from there...e.g. tool sharpening, plane reconditioning, box making, table saw jigs, etc...some scare the "h" out me watching what they do...others literally put me to sleep, but sometimes I find a real nugget...

For a little bit off topic but entertaining just the same check out the Russian car accidents on You Tube.  From the number of videos available I think they have Vodka for breakfast.  A bonus is learning to swear in Russian.  I watched some when I was laid up a while back.

:D:lol::D...The only You-Tube Video I could find this past spring showing how to replace the ignition switch in my wife's Grand Cherokee was in Russian.

Couldn't understand a thing he said except "torx." After doing the job and seeing your post Dan maybe he was swearing:lol:...who knew!

Anyways the video was great even if I couldn't swear in Russian.:D Could not have done the job without it.

Thank you Dave, I am flattered by this.

If you are into woodturning, check out "Rick Turns". Once a month he publishes a list of all of the You Tube turning videos for the previous month. Here's the list for October

Other turners are

Captain Eddy-  https://www.youtube.com/user/capneddie/featured

Tim YOder-  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOXBtgBVAAro9pyp4Q5_3lQ

Carl Jacobson-  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCirYSGBqwN5V0wxP72fuUGg

Izzy Swan is amazing (except for that backwards hat :))

Hope this helps.

Search YouTube for Steve Hay or Woodworking master Class. Great stuff.

Rob Cosman does some good stuff, too.

PBS. ORG........The Woodwright's Shop.

If you search by topic rather than source, you get a pretty wide distribution.  I learn a lot from the differences between approaches.  No one, no matter how expert, has a corner on good ideas.

Nor, on bad ones either, Pete. Although, I've garnered a mess of 'em.^_^

I watch N Z Woodturning and Tim Yoder.

High Falls Furniture...on youtube type HFFCOM (no dot in there) Good stuff, explained, detailed, and sped up when needed.

Gary

Ernie Conover -- Woodworker's Journal has some great stuff too...Flat and spinning.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the YouTube creators, I have all the recomended ones in my subscriptions and have enjoyed all for different reasons.

I think just because I don't have any experience turning that didn't involve getting the hell scared out of me when the piece came off the lathe I'm just gun shy to try it again.

how ya doing Pat...

been wondering....

Still here, things are progressing slowly. Hoping to get rid of the spinning head syndrone soon.
