October 27, 20178 yr Popular Post October is rapidly coming to an end. This week I’ve been working on completing stock for two upcoming shows. No pictures for you since I’ve already posted them in other post. Cutting boards and bread boards are the biggest thing in the queue right now. Starting tonight my granddaughter that lives with us is celebrating her 12 th Birthday. Any moment now I’m expecting five young girls to join her. I had five of the benches we made for the boys a few weeks back so the girls coming over are building their own bench. We have their initials for the to paint and put on the end of the bench. I will post some pictures of those when they finish them. So right now I’m resting up so I can make the night with them and spend a little time in the shop with them. Everything is cut out so all they will do is put in right pocket screws. So how about you all, what’s on your agenda this weekend before Halloween? Share your projects and plans with us. What ever you do this weekend, be safe!

I have a bunch of wood to thickness to 3/4" and some to 1/2". Got to plant some garlic for next summer before it rains Saturday night, too.
October 27, 20178 yr Popular Post Got new software for the laser burner. I'll likely spend Saturday playing with it and Inkscape. Sunday, probably get back to plane rehab. Used my Stew-Mac scrapers for a couple hours today. Man, are those things sweet.
October 27, 20178 yr Popular Post Headed to South Bend Saturday to watch my beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish play North Carolina State. This is a "layered" game. The temp at kickoff is supposed to be 42 degrees with light rain/snow showers. I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt, an ND hoodie and an ND coat accessorized by an ND toboggan.
October 27, 20178 yr Popular Post guess i should start doing detailed design on my wife's sewing table and work table (2 projects). need to figure out how much plywood i'll need.
October 28, 20178 yr Nice falls day today. Got out and did some yard work before the rain tomorrow. Can get in the shop tomorrow and get back to my pen project.
October 28, 20178 yr Did some cleanup in the shop . Changed a fluorescent fixture over to LED. Cut a bunch of blanks for making tops. Oh something I had put off for a long time to cut the guard out in the dust exhaust on my band saw. That sucker was cast iron . Guess you could say Grizzley builds them well. This did improve dust collection.
October 28, 20178 yr Did a little leaf blowing today. Going to try to go to Habitat Restore for a bit tomorrow if it doesn't wear me out. Need to get out of the house for a little while.

October 28, 20178 yr Normal weekend chauffeur duties. If the temperature breaks low 40's today, need to start mowing the yard and mulching @p_toad's leaves. If temps warm a little more, need to replace the plug & receptacle for my air compressor. I also have some tool refurbs in process I'd like to wrap up.

The only real difference is that on the Grizzley the port is cast iron and cuts the open space by almost 50%.He calls it cross hairs , on mine like 8 points of the compass Edited October 28, 20178 yr by Gerald
October 28, 20178 yr today's shop tip: your shop will stay nice and warm and comfy if you remember to turn the boiler on and properly set the thermostat. that is all. it's fine now. no problem. it's good. really.

Rainy day here and couldn't believe the rush at Habitat around 11 this morning. Ended up leaving early as i was whipped. Don't know where my youth went, but my get-up-and-go left sometime around noon.
