I've getting some shop time in between volleyball games and next week is the tournament and it will be over for the season. It has been fun but I am ready to get on to something else.

This week I got started on a smoker grill table built out of Poplar. Yesterday i was able to get the frame together and the wheels on the legs.

Then I got the bottom shelf boards cut and screwed down using coated decking screws.

I've got to get things together today for a show this evening so it will be sometime later tomorrow before I get to work on getting the top on. I am hoping to have it all finished this weekend though.

This past week a new friend came up to me and told me he used to be into wood working where they lived before moving here and he just couldn't do it any more and he had some equipment sitting in a trailer that needed to be out and put to use before it just rusted away. He said if you are interested I have a shaper you can have if you can use it in your shop. Well of course I can use it.:D

So this week he came by with a friend and we unloaded it from his truck and rolled it into the shop.

Yes it is going to need some work on the top but it is not pitted yet so it is just surface rust and should come off pretty easily. He was using it to make raise panel doors.

It is a Weaver and I know nothing about them at this point.

He also brought me a case full of blades with all kind of profiles.

I'm looking forward to getting it cleaned up and wired for my plugs in the shop and see what it will do. It also had two fences with it. Looks a bit scary so I'll find something to practice with first.

So that is my agenda, what's on your weekend agenda? Love to hear about your projects and see all of the pictures of what you are working on.

Have a great weekend and whatever you do, be safe!

PS: I shot in my first pistol competition last weekend and had a blast!

I have 2 cords of wood to get into the woodshed, lights to hang and wire in the shop, deer hunting and I am trying to kick the bug I have caught. There may not be much happening other than trying to rid myself of this bug

John, I believe that company is still in business, fairly small outfit. Nice of the fellow to give you that shaper.

Shapers scare the beegeezez outta me. But, hope you can get it up and running...safely.

We're nursing an injured dog. She got hit by a car as she was walking with my wife. Broke her pelvis in two places. Vet says it'll heal on it's own but, it'll take at least three months. In the meantime, all we can do is give her pain meds and use a towel wrapped around her belly to lift her and make her walk on her front legs.

Shop is closed for the weekend. We're going trail riding with son and DIL. Monday, I'll get back at it.

Know exactly how you feel...same here...A double elimination tourney at home tomorrow then the sectional tourney starts Tuesday night. "We" host this year. I don't see us getting past the first round:unsure:

VERY cool on that shaper. Even better with all the cutters and heads. Appears to be an oldie, but commercial quality.

:lol::D:lol:...Made me SNORK!!

Saturday chauffeur duties and PU parts at John Deere while close...hope to get some tool refurbs finished and maybe some others started. Supposed to rain again tomorrow, but if it holds off, plan to dig a row of carrots. Several other outside chores too depending on weather.

Sorry to hear Gene. Always hurts when a "fur kid" gets injured.:( Hope she mends quickly.

That is going to be beautiful Ron once the final finish is applied.

Bad news about the dog, Gene. Hope all goes well as he/she recovers.

It has been a blast to build but I'm ready to move on, Dave.

Thanks for the doggie comments, guys. The pain meds are kicking in. She can hobble a bit on her own and she managed to do her business. As long as we can keep her pain free, she's happy and we're happy.

Gene sorry to hear about the family member (anyway ours is). About 20 years ago we got a chihuahua puppy  and he was sitting with wife ,. She started to put him down and he jumped and broke his leg fortunately he could get around.

Got 9 of the plaques ready for lacquer just have to wait for stain to dry. May be done with this by end of next week.

Have a hole in my right arm....Doctor did a biopsy on a spot that keeps on growing....results in two weeks.

Tried a bit of wood working....arm started getting sore....pain meds and sharp objects don't play well together...stopped til Saturday.    Might get a little more done...

Sorry to hear about your arm, I hope it heals up. How did you injure it ? I get a lot of dings that bleed and most of the time I don't know it till I see the blood. Being on blood thinners isn't fun. But not like yours, they don't hurt. You must have injured it deep.

Doc did a biopsy....dug a chunk out of the arm...Find out in a few weeks what the growth is....

Steve, hope the doc finds the cause and has a remedy. Two weeks of waiting would drive me batty.

After seven years of trying and 3 miscarriages, our son and DIL surprised us with a 12 week sonogram, last night. It'll be their first and, our third grandkid. Looks like a cradle is on the list. Any pointers, Ron?

Oakley, the pup, seems to get more active with each hour. Those pain meds are really helping.

You are talking about the dog, right?

BTW, Congratulations to the expectant parents and grand-parents!!:)

Congratulations on the upcoming new grand child. Start saving for his college right now. Maybe a crib instead of a cradle.
