Typically our Monday morning topic is filled with questions on what we all did over the weekend, what we have planned for the week ahead, and we will welcome our new members and share stories. But I woke up to come on here before I head off to work for the day, and upon turning on the morning news, I learned about the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

So I am here writing now, and I cannot find the heart nor the words to start off our typical Monday Morning topic with words of cheer and happiness. But, that does not mean you cannot participate in this topic, to let us know what you did over the weekend, and what you have planned for the week ahead. Actually, I hope you do, perhaps I can turn to our membership for some cheer and uplifting remarks in this time of darkness for our nation. I am saddened, and hurt. The sounds of the gunfire coming from the building above the concert crowd, will forever be in my mind, knowing that the bullets were striking innocents below.

So I'll turn this topic over to you my friends, and I'll head off to work in a few minutes, just like any "normal day", meanwhile the lives of many have been changed forever in our nation, as a result of the largest mass shooting in our nations history.

May God shine His grace on all those affected by this tragic event and may He take those who's lives have ended, into His arms.

Spent most of  last week at The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, and Ford Rouge River Factory (currently making F150s, previously Model T, Model A, Ford V8, Tbirds, and Mustands) Saw Wright Bros. shop, Edison's labs,  history of autos, furniture, civil rights, trains,  agriculture, industrial development, and more.   Spent the time with grandkids, daughters and sons-in-law.

Friday was spent driving to Tucson and assembling a laser with my son and grandson. Saturday, on the drive home, got to pick up a few bf of mesquite in Casa Grande. No plans for it yet.

Sunday was just a day to kick back and recover. Solo driving 500 miles in two days takes it out of this old body. Gas sure went up too, while I wasn't paying attention.

Got enough stuff to do over this next week to keep me out of trouble.

changed a light bulb... (CFL)...

well it started out that way...

one led to 2 which led to 3 and.........

principle cause of failure  was was over heated starters which cooked the bulb sockets/wiring...

I too was saddened by the news from Las Vegas.  Lost for words actually hearing so many lives were lost.

The dry weather has made the trees drop their leaves early.  Spent some time getting the leaf gathering tractor out together for the chore.  Ran it around to make sure it worked as designed.

Absolutely ingenious.

Went hunting Sat and Sun mornings, a little work in the shop Sat afternoon and relaxed yesterday after we got back.

@HandyDan That is a pretty neat piece of ingenuity . Will be unpacking today after getting in last night from a 10 days trip to Lake of the Ozarks. Will spend the afternoon in the shop testing the new plane and working on the plaques. Hope that 2 weeks ends the plaque project.

Had a call from Just Right Carbines and my carbine had a part missing (ok must have been me) and they will fix and upgrade.

You just never know what is in the twisted minds who do things like this and know of no way to stop them. Prayers for the lost and their families.

I don't know -- we might have to demote him from "master carpenter" because he used a cardboard box and not wood to make this.

I went to the church this morning early to pray with our Sr. Pastor and didn't know anything about the tragedy in Las Vegas until I jumped on the treadmill and turned the TV on.  What a needless, heinous act.  I doubt that we will ever know what triggered the violence.

As for the weekend, I glued the cradle together on Saturday and just took it out of the clamps today.  I took a break from the cradle project today and installed 6 5,000 lumen LED lights in the shop.  I couldn't believe the difference it made over the existing fluorescents.

That's a bummer. Didn't know CFLs would do that. Could have been worser.

they do...

some the bases turn black...

others the tube separates from the base...

some just dim...

when that happens that's the warning sign of more to come...

sure glad it wasn't...

We've still got a couple. They're in globes, which now has me concerned.

Everything else is LED or incandescent. Well, the shop is all fluorescents.

A really sad time for all of america. First was Texas, then Fla. & southern states, then PR. Now this in Las Vegas. I pray the good master will take care of the leader in North Korea.

I believe america's ingenuity will pull us thru.  With sites such as this we all keep in touch one way er another. It's a good feeling I KNOW FOLKS out there I'l probably never eyeball.   Setting here with a tear doing it's best to fall out of my eye, thinking bout all the suffering sure is humbling. Cya

did a through inspection of every lamp/light.. I got really concerned too..

the burnt bulbs were made in china as were the lamp sockets that destructed...

all of the chinese ''stuff'' show heat stress/degradation...

the USA made lamp holders and bulbs made in the US are fine...

new USA made Bryant holders and USA made LEDs...

I'm so sick of chinese made shid...

my house could have burnt down...

Hopefully finish mowing today. Volleyball wraps up this week...a variety of inside/outside projects on the list. Thought a lot about to post or not to post the following. If it's deemed out of line or politically inappropriate and requires removal, so be it. It is becoming ever more clear however, "a man who stands for nothing, will soon fall for anything..."

First my heart and prayers go out to the victims and their families impacted by yesterday's events. May they be granted comfort and peace through the arms of God. The senseless tragedy which occurred yesterday in Las Vegas is the result of a highly defective human being deeply vested in a society and culture which values self above anything else. The ignorance of gun control advocates and so-called pundits immediately began pounding their message drums as the injured and killed were still being administered medical attention.

NEVER in the history of man or firearms has A GUN killed or injured a human on it's (gun) own accord any more than a car has killed or injured someone on it's own. Man chooses to make a decision to take someone's life with either. I grew up in a time when we took guns to school in our cars & trucks, never with intent to harm someone but for sportsman purposes after school. The guns were in plain sight sometimes even in unlocked vehicles. Why did no one bother the guns or worry about mass shootings? Because our culture and society valued God first, then Country (including standing at attention for our Anthem) and others rights ahead of our own. Until we return to these values and only then, will we as a people abolish ourselves of events such a yesterday...Controlling guns is not the answer...even controlling people is not an answer...only individuals who willfully control themselves will put a stop to such selfish, mindless acts.

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

May the God who transcends all understanding bless & comfort those impacted yesterday and may He find cause to once again Bless America!

I could not have said it any better...
