May 30, 20179 yr Popular Post While having to clear the "card" of a camera we bought at a yard sale a while back....they had forgot to delete 135+ pictures of a trip to Tybee Island....took a LONG time to clear them all off. All except one.... Apparently, the was a house full of older furniture. This MIGHT have had casters under them feet. So...who is going to make this one? Again, I don't carve....maybe Morris could whip one of these out....

May 31, 20179 yr Author Besides, it will need four casters, and a decent rolltop desk to make it complete...

Haven't been there for a few years now, but except for Savannah itself, Tybee was our second favorite vacation spot ever! Loved swimming in the ocean with the dolphins, then gorging ourselves on fresh blue crab, oysters, & shrimp...course the sting of being roasted on the beach kinda' took away from the dining experience somewhat... Now for the chair...certainly resembles a Federal era chair but likely more from the 1860-80 era. A whole lot of that furniture used to be had in antique shops from Savannah to Charleston...I probably could do the heart pine floor under the chair but not the chair...course you'd have to "loan" me the heart pine and the 'ole 45 to make the tongue & grooves.

May 31, 20179 yr Looks as though they used an iron 4-way socket to attach the legs rather than the dovetailed hub style socket joint usually seen in that old furniture. Herb
