I've been looking for a challenging turning project and I think I may have found one! Discovered this while browsing one of the G+ communities to which I belong. These turning are by Erwin Van Looy. He calls them "square bowls"-

 

After a bit of searching, I found two similar videos describing the process, including the construction of dedicated jigs. I have some walnut that just might fill the bill!

 

 

 

Something about the shape of these really appeals to me!

Thanks Lew, another nice collection. FWIW, one of our club members did a demo on those double axis square bowls. It was one of female members and it was the first demo she ever did. They have a neat look when finished.
