A beautiful old walnut tree was taken down (reasons unknown) about 1/2 mile from the Easy Wood Tools office here in Lexington.

So what's a guy to do?!?!

Like opening a Christmas present!

I scored a bunch of walnut in the fall, mostly crotch pieces but that is exactly what I wanted. Walnut is beautiful wood and it really lends itself to turning natural edge. Congrats on the nice haul!

It was really exciting to see what was inside.  It looks like a LOT of beautiful color and grain patterns.  Exciting stuff!

Gonna make a another gorgeous bowl. Nice score.

Walnut has such a warm look to it.  Scoring some is a happy event for sure.  Best thing that happened for you this week I'll bet.

Sweet score Jim...Fortunately there are "environmentalists" like yourself who know how to properly "dispose" of such refuse.

Looking forward seeing how you re-purpose old wood such as this.;)
