March 15, 20178 yr Sounds reasonable. I put a playing card under mine to make it level and I could not feel or see any difference.
March 15, 20178 yr It should be against the law to cut bandsaw boxes that fast.. Maybe I should invest in a carter guide., and develop a bit more skill
March 15, 20178 yr @It Was Al B & @Ron Altier I've seen it in person...amazing...the video captures almost exactly one of his sessions at the Wood Shows...plus he's talking all the time and has all of his fingers... Edited March 15, 20178 yr by Grandpadave52
March 16, 20178 yr That is exactly the first thing I thought about. I could NOT cut operate a machine while talking or distracted.
March 16, 20178 yr He's done it so many times, his choreography is all muscle memory. I'll bet his spiel and movements are so memorized, he could do it in his sleep....probably has.
March 17, 20178 yr How about the record speed he turns out those little reindeer. I have seen his show several times at the WW shows and never tire of watching.
November 2, 20196 yr I wanted something I could see all the time for keeping tension on my band blade. When a band warms up metal stretches and I wanted to keep the same tension. So I took off my adjustment bolt and put in a longer one. I did away with the spring. In place of it all I put over the longer bolt a hydraulic cylinder with a hollow shaft. It slides right down over the longer bolt. Then I put a shorter spring and my tightening thumb bolt. I filed the hydraulic cylinder with oil and plugged one end and the other end has a pressure gauge. As I tighten the thumb bolt it squeezes the cylinder forcing the hydraulic to show pressure. Just one time I used a tension gauge to see what I needed to show on the hydraulic hydraulic. Now when I'm running and if the band warms up I can adjust the thumb screw to make up for the blade stretch. Works great.
November 2, 20196 yr I've never been good at setting the tension on blades. Might be why I won't change a blade unless it's broke....
