February 26, 20179 yr Popular Post Did a little turning to finish. Got this bishop wood at AAW symposium in June. This really turned well. Had some minor cracks that went accross grain lines, have never seen that.
February 26, 20179 yr You are doing great with your turning Gerald. That is a new one on me, looks like watermellon wood. Herb
February 26, 20179 yr Pretty wood and a really nice shape on your bowl. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. Steve

February 27, 20179 yr Author Thanks for the comments and Stick for the reference. This wood even though the wax had a distinctive smell when I bought it in June , but no smell at all when turned.
February 27, 20179 yr Very nice Gerald...like some of the others, I'd never heard of the species...Grain appears to be open pore?...grain pattern and the color is very unique too...the applied finish should make this really stand out. Please show again when finished...should be spectacular...Thanks for sharing.
