Popular Post LarryS Posted February 18, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Just got the blanket chest off of the bench Friday. Now going to wait until the weather gets warmer to take back out in the shop and stain and varnish. Took the 6" carsiding and put in a extra groove from the router to make it look like 3" . The 6" looks good on the bed for as big as it is but the 3" looks better for the chest for as small as it is. PeteM Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Very nice. Matching existing is always fun. Curiosity: are you going to put feet under the chest? LarryS 1 Quote
Smallpatch Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 I'm sure glad you guys when you show something tell all the names of things. When car siding was mentioned some time ago all I could vision was the old woody station wagons. Never ever took the time to learn the correct terms for anything for I always worked by my self and I just never learned to talk to my self..You don't get too far when you sit there and argue with yourself!! More pictures makes every body happy... good job... LarryS, HARO50 and Grandpadave52 3 Quote

At least everyone knows what carsiding is now!!!! 53 minutes ago, Grandpadave52 said: Kudos Larry...Like it...glad to see you're able to get some quality shop time in... The rates for the room are a 4 star rate now. Were talking thousands of dollars a night with the great single window view of nothing to the north. What more could you ask for? 34 minutes ago, PeteM said: Very nice. Matching existing is always fun. Curiosity: are you going to put feet under the chest? John Moody Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 Great looking blanket chest. I really love the look and the extra groove. Thanks for sharing it with us. LarryS 1 Quote
Dadio Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 You did a great job on that blanket chest, Larry. It will last for generations. Would make a good tool chest too, and a fellow could just sit down on it and eat his lunch on the job. Herb HARO50, Grandpadave52, John Moody and 1 other 4 Quote
