Blanket Chest

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Just got the blanket chest off of the bench Friday.

Now going to wait until the weather gets warmer to take back out in the shop and stain and varnish.

Took the 6" carsiding and put in a extra groove from the router to make it look like 3" .

The 6" looks good on the bed for as big as it is but the 3" looks better for the chest for as small as it is.

Very nice!

Now we're talking Larry, great job! Are you the one who was asking about car siding a couple weeks ago? Great job sir!

Very nice work.

Kudos Larry...Like it...glad to see you're able to get some quality shop time in...

I suppose with this new addition to the room the rate is going up per night?:D

Thanks for sharing...

Very nice.  Matching existing is always fun.  Curiosity:  are you going to put feet under the chest?

I'm sure glad you guys when you show something tell all the names of things. When car siding was mentioned some time ago all I could vision was the old woody station wagons.

Never ever took the time to learn the correct terms for anything for I always worked by my self and I just never learned to talk to my self..You don't get too far when you sit there and argue with yourself!!

More pictures makes every body happy... good job...

No I'm not the one who asked. I 'm the one who first brought it up on the forum though. At least everyone knows what carsiding is now!!!! :D

I'm glad for shop time also. It's nice enough to get out and get some work done before my surgery.

The rates for the room are a 4 star rate now. Were talking thousands of dollars a night with the great single window view of nothing to the north.:o

What more could you ask for? :P

And thanks for that!

A job well done.  You are right about the three inch siding.  Looks great.

Even  this old house has carsiding in a current show.

Funny... the two of us are always in perfect agreement! :D

Nice chest, Larry.

Great looking blanket chest. I really love the look and the extra groove. Thanks for sharing it with us.

You did a great job on that blanket chest, Larry. It will last for generations. Would make a good tool chest too, and a fellow could just sit down on it and eat his lunch on the job.
