February 13, 20179 yr Popular Post Have you ever given miniature turning a whirl? Best way of getting rid of the very small scraps. It is fun too. Here is a couple I have done, let's see yours.
February 13, 20179 yr I was pretty impressed with the first one, but when you showed the chalice sitting on the key - HOLY SMOKES!! Can you call an item that small a chalice? I always thought, although maybe incorrectly, that chalices are large.

February 13, 20179 yr That blows me away Dan. Ive got a scrap box you could keep busy for many years making things like that. Herb
February 13, 20179 yr Dan maybe you have been listening to John Lucas too much. I would need a BIG magnifing glass for that. The hollow form is cool

February 13, 20179 yr Popular Post These little birds are about the smallest thing I've done but they are pretty straight forward skew work. Still, it's a good thing my lathe will spin 24" so capacity wasn't a problem I have to agree with Gerald, my first thought was about some of the stuff John Lucas used to post on WOOD. You're right there with him IMO. Steve
February 14, 20179 yr I need a set of wine glasses that size, it will slow my wine stock when my sisters in-law are here. Great looking pieces.
January 12, 20206 yr Popular Post Guess I'm going to have to get out my mini lathe. I haven't used this thing in 40 years....

January 12, 20206 yr Thanks, Dan, for a great idea. Now I know what to do with some scraps rather than burn.

Inspired by this thread, right before Christmas I got busy and glued up a bunch of scraps for future projects. Herb Pictures not in order! Edited January 15, 20206 yr by Dadio
January 16, 20206 yr Author Popular Post That has to be one of the best ways to use scraps. Those are quite nice and look to be a great tool to have around.
