August 7, 20178 yr Author An update to this thread. Yesterday I began gutting the upstairs bathroom and removed the old tub/shower combo. It appeared to me that the existing unit did, in fact, have some type of support system under it for there was a lot of extra molded stuff under it. It did not come up to cleanly so I did not get a pic of that. What I did get a pic of was the foam insulation that had been shot under there about 10 years ago. It was very hard and firm. It came out in chunks. Just thought I would pass along this update. Cal
