A vast variety of weather spreads across the country today. Here it only takes a frost to close schools. With a winter weather advisory and a possible .5 to 1" schools announced yesterday they would close today. So a light dusting happened this morning and this has been about it for us.

My granddaughter came in and said, "I thought they said an inch of snow, that doesn't even cover the grass." Well that's how it goes around here. It did keep me in and no therapy today so I didn't slip and fall going across the deck and down the steps to get out. So I'm still in the house and exercising my knee myself. No shop time yet, but I will be back in there before long, I hope.

We did welcome our newest Granddaughter on Wednesday and I got to go down to the hospital yesterday and see her for the first time.

Mary Morgan came in weighing 4 lbs 10 oz and a full 18" long. She was a few weeks early but everything is good. Just pray that she gains some weight so she can come home. They won't let her out of the hospital until she gains a few ounces and holds it so it may be a week or so.

I know things are crazy with the weather everywhere, but we as always are excited to hear about your projects and see what you are working on. Post those pictures and share your weekend plans with all of us here at TPW.

Have a safe weekend and I look forward to seeing what's on your agenda!

Congratulations on the new grand daughter!

Really cold here, not sure if I will get into the shop this weekend. I want to since I have not been really out there doing anything for the past 2 months (Christmas, Weekend Traveling and Elk Season)

I am also trying to the new insurance, ankle surgeon and PCP all lined up right so I can get my surgery scheduled. I still want to try to do it the end of this month.

Beautiful granddaughter!    Glad your knee is coming along well, too.

I snuck out early this morning, before the "live in nurse" got up and shoveled a couple of driveways- could have actually just used a broom. We had almost an inch of light fluffy stuff.

I'll be working on a communion table redesign (Sketchup) and sending it off for approval.

 Congrats on the granddaughter.:)

Congrats, Moody. How Many is that, now?

Got a little sanding to do then some finishing.

SIL bought an electric fireplace that doubles for a TV stand. Supposed to help her assemble it later.

Eight for now. Seven here and one in heaven.

John, that is one of best photos I have ever seen of the two of you, frame worthy in my opinion. Mary looks so tiny, but happy and awesome. My heart to all of ya!

Our agenda, well today we are heading up to our local mountains to catch some of that white stuff John is showing in his topic. I am coming off my two week Christmas vacation from work, and we closing out the long run of time off with a fun day in the snow. We had rain here locally pretty much most of the week, so that typically translates to some good snow up in the mountains.

Tomorrow it's back on the lathe to see if I can make some more kindling. Should have another Shaker stool assembled by close of day. I feel I have had enough practice with the stools, I am ready to graduate up to a shaker rocker now. Can't wait!

Have a great weekend all, and please be safe in all you do.

Monday, it's back to reality for me!

Congrats on the grand daughter! We have a five month that the wife is keeping while our daughter is at work. Tough duty but somebody's got to do it. :)

Steve

Congratulations on your Granddaughter !!!

No shoptime for me. I'm have been staying in and trying to keep warm

Congratulations to you and yours John...

Congratulations to all.   Hope the new mom is doing ok.

She looks to be a keeper!  :)

Thanks all for the great comments about our new granddaughter.

Each one is special and we are excited about Mary Morgan.

Congratulations to Grandma & Grandpa Moody...Looks like Mary Morgan is ready to be spoiled...well as soon as she wakes up:P

Remains nasty cold here...although sunny today barely broke double digits...tonight headed to "0" actual + the 1+" of snow on the ground

My only "shop time" appears to be trying to change the starter on my truck this weekend...

Take care of yourself and be very careful on that knee with snow/ice...Enjoy your new grand-daughter...she'll be helping you in the shop in no time...

Congratulations!  That's a happening that never gets old.

Shook the cold I had and want to get something done in the shop this weekend.  Nothing planned though.

She's a sweetie John and we can't wait to come see her.  Today I started building two walnut flag cases today and have an oak side table in the wings.

Congrats John!!!

I have been been down with a virus all week that kept out of work and the shop all week. Feeling better now so starting a dresser build for my son in the morning. Have all the pieces rough cut so I will spend quite awhile jointing and planing in the morning.

Also just got a new toy in I have to figure out. My dad asked me to make him a custom sized replica of an antique shaker style blanket chest they have for a specific use and he specifically mentioned dovetails and I came out of the deal with a 30" peachtree dovetail wiz kit. This will be they toughest build I have ever attempted but I can't wait to get started on it!

Sounds like a great project Trey. If I can help or you need anything come by the shop.  I got a chance to speak to your dad before they took me back for surgery. He was telling me about your upcoming projects.

Look ok forward to seeing it come along.
