January 11, 20179 yr I have already used the "If I have this _________, then I could build you this _________" and we have not been married 2 weeks yet. This may take some getting use to, for so many, many years I just got what I wanted, when I wanted it.

Our two-car garage is full of lawn mowers, snow blowers, garden tools and stuff I haven't even identified yet! Plus, it isn't heated. As a result, my workshop is in the basement. Scraping ice and frost off vehicles is a way of life here for five months a year, but after 44+ years, I still do it for her whenever I can. As for tools, there's never been a problem.... she figures if I buy it, I must need it! John
January 12, 20179 yr Of course she's a keeper. A split would cost more than all his tools. On the other hand, i've been married for xx years and never needed a ring to tell me i was married. Anyway, she told me i can't trade her in until we're married longer than my grandparents were, so i've got a few months left on the warranty.

Most prized tool in my shop is a large vintage Buffalo Tools Co drill press, probably Pre WWII. Thing is a beast.... If I could buy tools like THAT...I would never look at an Asian tool again...

High mileage trade ins often don't bring much, you might be better trying to sell her outright....! (ducks from wrench thrown my direction...just kidding bro!) In all seriousness, I was one year ahead of my wife in College. When I was a freshmen, went on a student trip to the middle east and one of the girls on the trip was Kathy, who would be my wife's room mate her freshman year. Gentleman we met during our travels offered us 10 Camels for Kathy and was quite offended when we wouldn't trade her. Would not trade my wife for a Camel....but checked out an Italian band saw at Wood Werks supply here in Columbus last night. Band saw has possibilities....but it wouldn't rub my feet when they got tired from standing on the concrete shop floor. But then again, neither will my wife....!

I'm in the same situation but I convinced our next neighbor, with a 2 1/2 & a compact car, that if my wife shared her garage it would be safer because it looks like some one is always home at her place. She, the neighbor, was even nice enough to buy a snow blower so I didn't have to shovel the drive.

Mine has a nice, heavy-duty blower, and usually does my driveway before I even get up. John
