The locking bars do not have enough "grip" to hold things steady, and IF you crank them as tight as you can, they mar the wood.   They need a rougher surface to grip with.

 

When you get to Columbus I will show you how I adjusted mine...

    I cut them by hand also, but at times use the jig when I want to build a lot of drawers.
