January 4, 20179 yr Popular Post Stage one is done, at the moment. Moved a few corded items out of the way.. I moved the grinder to a new spot, the scrollsaw is just resting there, for now. Had to move the Brace/drill till to get this far....whew. When I moved the scrollsaw, found a mess under it.. Guess I used it more than I thought. Unloaded the plane till ( onto the Boss' washer..Shhhh) and took the till away for a bit. Had to move one more power tool, and needed a spot to place it, for now At least it is out of the way, for now. Not sure about where it will set up at, or even which level. I may do away with the lower level, all together. Once the spot was cleaned off, I could go about installing both tills in their new home.. Brace till went in first, then the plane til. Still have a bit of room to the left side. Will leave that door alone, kind of handy way to store LONG handled items. Oh, and I also cleaned off the top of the tool chest.. And gave it a rattle can of shine up. There was an old E-Cord hanging overhead...didn't work. Got it untangled from the rafters, coiled up, and hauled away. Will replace with a new one. Stage 2 will be later today, maybe. Afternoon Tea will happen first.....then maybe back to moving things around. Have to figure out where the power tools will go to help out with the work-flow. It will do for now, even the camera is tired....
January 4, 20179 yr Popular Post So far, so good. When can we see a pix of the whole dungeon, Igor included? Edited January 4, 20179 yr by Gene Howe
January 5, 20179 yr Author Found a few... And a backsaw was in a till in the bottom of the Walnut Tool Chest....
January 5, 20179 yr Author Popular Post Tried to get a picture of Igor...but he jumped on the broom and flew away, leaving me to carry the trash bag upstairs.... He did get ONE spot swept up, though... At least I can stand there and fasten down a few toys... Hand grinder can move as needed. I may add the Sander center in that spot. Would have liked to get this upstairs, now that it is empty. But I don't think I can quite do it myself. I closed the lid, and just slid it back to where it was. Until I get a bit of help. Won't be too much going on tomorrow in the shop. have that follow up on the knee in the morning. Might be a day to rest up.

Yep, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to give the knee a bit of a rest...Doc probably isn't going to scold you much for all the trips up/down the steps, but carrying items might be another story. Ya' done good so far...it'll still be there for you. BTW....I'd never knew you had a PC Dovetail jig....must have been hiding down there somewhere... Is the shop cat OK with all this disruption?
January 5, 20179 yr Author Shop Cat has been patroling around the outside of the house lately, or sleeping things off. That boy has been packing on the pounds, lately. Gave up on the PC Jig.....got tired of fighting it, anyway. May just send it out the door. Needs a collar for a router, and a 1/2" shanked DT bit. I'll just do dovetails by hand for now.
January 5, 20179 yr I have the very early 24" PC router jig. Weighs a ton. Since I've learned to do hand cut dovetails, I never use it.
January 5, 20179 yr Author If someone wants mine, drive over and pick it up. Would cost too much to ship this #4210 through the mail, anyway. I made the same offer over at Stumpy Nubs site. Anyone want a dovetail jig? Come on down...
January 5, 20179 yr Author Ok, that walnut tool chest is now upstairs, my son carried it with no problem at all...Grrrrrr Doctor Visit went very well, no restrictions, no need to schedule any more visits. Resting up today, then MAYBE back at it tomorrow. Walnut Tool Chest does need a new home though.....

You sure had a speedy recovery. Do you have any pain now? Good to hear you are back doing things so fast after surgery. Herb
January 5, 20179 yr I have the 1410 jig as well but love it. Hasnt needed a lot of tweaking to get good joints out of. I've used it for lots of through half blind and a couple of sliding dovetails as well.

Good to hear you are back doing things so fast after surgery. Herb Had some tears repaired, is all, They cleaned it out, and repaired the torn stuff. Knee is still a bit stiff and tender, but seems to be ok, Uncle Arthur being in there doesn't help much. Been 3 weeks, so far. I found my dovetail jig to be a bit finicky.. Will be doing hand cut ones from now on....don't like the look of these..things.

January 9, 20179 yr Author Have a fellow stopping by tomorrow night to pick it up. I just MIGHT have to clean it up, first. The locking bars do not have enough "grip" to hold things steady, and IF you crank them as tight as you can, they mar the wood. They need a rougher surface to grip with.
