January 2, 20179 yr Popular Post Came across an oldie but goodie tool. Dad dropped a few things off at my place a year ago, I stashed them for later. During my cleaning I came back across this neat old Kreg Jig. I don't think he ever used it. He loved Wood Magazine, this would have been in the late 80's he purchased this, no doubt because it was Wood Magazine top choice rated. Even says so on the box lid. Pretty cool eh!

January 3, 20179 yr That sir is a keeper rather you ever use it or not just because it came from pops...but I already know you know that too. Thanks for sharing such a cool find... BTW...did you re-find that after looking at your shop pictures post too? Edited January 3, 20179 yr by Grandpadave52

Danged near Dave, seeing the images prompted me to delve into the workbench storage and I dug these out! Thanks for the kind comments regarding pops, you hit it dead on.
January 3, 20179 yr That is a real treasure John. I'll bet if you send that photo to Kreg they could give you more info on it.

January 3, 20179 yr Its neat to see a tool from recent times that has evolved into a go to tool in many shops. It seems that every year or two they come out with a new revolutionary tool that vanishes a year or two later.
January 4, 20179 yr I have that model!! It in the same box and with the same instructions. Oops, if it's a museum piece, what does that make me?

I don't use pocket hole joinery at all, I did awhile back when I was building casework, I used my own modern day Kreg for the face frames, but I have not used pocket holes in years. That being said, it's a piece of ol dad, I'll keep it.

Just a glimpse into what the past was with this revolutionary tool.
January 5, 20179 yr I have one of those too. I don't have the box or the instructions and the jig it's self doesn't say K 4 on it. I'm pretty sure this is the same jig. It still my go jig unless I use Kreg Jig 3 that i carry in my tools box.
