Can't you paint over paint? I think I would take a picture of the top and have Lowes computer match the paint and come up with a matching color ,like black.

Well, i have to admit that the "different" look is something that's in right now.   While i've been volunteering at my local habitat i can tell you that the bright brass lamps and chandeliers are out and the black, silver, grey, tan, and other colors are in.  Think i took at least two tan lights down from the hooks for folks and hung up another couple of black colored lights.   Also, large dangling crystals seem to be a thing now.
