Just got some of the Friday ads

Featured Replies

and while I normally skip the black Friday sales, this year I may have to mosey on over to Menard's. They have those folding aluminum work platforms for $9, and I've been needing one for some time, maybe I'll get 2. Also a 6' folding scaffold which I could use while finishing the shop for $99...I had been waiting for a HF 30% coupon to get one (theirs are $200) but I'll check out the Menard's one and consider it. Anybody else find any thing good (from a tool standpoint)?

Nothing has bowled me down.

Thinking of getting one of the sons-in-law a new cordless drill-driver.  (Unfortunately) his dad got him a Craftsman which has now with dead batteries.   I got a Ridgid a few years ago and am on my third set of batteries, replaced over the counter through their LSA.

New drill - $79,  new drill and impact driver, $129 -- trying to convince SWMBO that I'd like the impact driver and give the rest to SIL  ;-)

Wife hides all the tool ads. The only one she let me see was Tractor Supply. They have a nice sale on Ariats and bird seed.:P

Tractor supply is my go-to place for nuts and bolts.    Buy 'em by the pound, grade 3,5, and 8.

I got my Tool Porn Catalog (Lee Valley Xmas) earlier this week, but have not had a chance to study it.

There is a local online auction wood shop liquidation closing Nov 30.  Going to save buying anything until I see how this goes. I saw a few interesting items to bid on.

I'm almost sure you don't need a band saw or scroll saw so I might have a chance,

Let me know what you are bidding on and I won't bid against you.

 Thanks Buddy,

Got the Gander Mountain ad and made a quick trip there this morning and got a new Liberty Fatboy Jr safe. I hope the boys and my SIL don't eat too much cause they got to carry it up the 7 stairs in the house.

A good way to move the safe when on the floor is to use some 1" diameter pvc pipe. Cut several of them to the width of the safe and  place them under the safe, then roll the safe, moving the back to the front as you go across the floor (much like the aliens taught the Egyptians to move the pyramid stones)

I've got to go pull that Gander Mountain ad. There was a few things in the Cabela's ad that had me drooling.

Yes!

We got it in place. Took about eight of us to get it up the seven steps.

Nice safe.  Saw some turning blanks in the pallet.:P

A story here about Liberty Safes. There was a tornado south of here in Magee,MS. The safe was ripped from the house and carried over a mile away. Liberty sent a crew to retrieve the safe and contents and repaired the safe and reinstalled later. Think the contents were protected and they returned that to the owner. One heck of a company.

Bang,  pulled the trigger on a Ridgid 12v drill/driver + impact driver combo kit for $99 on black Friday, free ship to home.

I do like my woodworking projects a lot, however I don't think I'd ever put them a safe.
