Good Morning Patriot Woodworker's!

This is your official wake-up call for the week! As usual we want to know what you did over the weekend, it does not matter if it's woodworking related, we just want to be nosy! So, what did ya get done, what did you not get done, did you get some shop time, or did you turn on the TV and watch sports all weekend, either way, drop us a line here and tell what the heck did you do.

Also, what do you have on your woodworking, or life in general agenda for the coming week ahead? Please drop us a line here in this topic, and if you can spare a few, images please!

Civic Duty

Yep, it's that time of year again, and it's a duty we take seriously in our nation. Your vote counts, so head to the polls and make your voice be heard! My philosophy has always been, if you don't vote, you can't complain!

Dale Felice's carving brings in funds for a young man

Patriot Woodworker and Veteran Dale Felice is a carver, on a big scale. He uses his chainsaw to carve logs, and what comes out of those logs are some fantastic art pieces. One of his art pieces went up for auction to benefit Brady who was diagnosed with Sarcoma. We are so proud of Dale, our community was founded on the principles that Dale exhibits with his work and his "Give Back" attitude to causes that are near and dear to his heart. He frequently carves for benefits and auctions for law enforcement and veterans events.

Thank you Dale for your service to our nation, and your continued service in the civilian world!

Please drop by Dale's gallery image and drop him a note of encouragement and a thanks for his service at "Freedoms Landing".

For more of Dales cravings see his album at:

Spread the word

Our community grows by word of mouth, since we are not backed by a major magazine, nor a major commercial entity, we do not have the built in member base like other forum communities have, we depend on you, our current members to let others know about our great community of woodworkers, so please contact your friends, and let them know we are here, and we welcome all!

Didn't really do much shop work this weekend. Recovered from all the work last week.

I did however get the floor of the finishing room etched so today I can paint it with the epoxy and finally get it set up.

Had a good show Friday night and picked up a few orders so I'll have something to work on for a while.

John (Moody), did the green egg table stuff slow down (?), hadn't seen any recently. Back to this post: I spent the weekend getting my stuff ready for the partition wall I'm erecting in my someday-to-be shop. All my 10' boards were some other length, so I had to get them trimmed up.

It's a shame they don't make boards like they used to, Fred. :D

Spent Saturday looking for my motivation. Found it Sunday. Changed the blades on two table saws. Then, re aligned them both. Oh, the joys of owning Shopsmiths.

Dumped three boxes of different length screws on the floor. The clean up blew an hour. By then, it was supper time.

Today, I'm considering putting a bevel on some boards....if time permits. :P

Saturday...cleared a lot of brush and weed saplings, final cut on lawn, showed the squirrels where the black walnuts are, put HEAVY cast iron tub on trailer for trash (gotta get me an electric winch)...and best of all, went to Grandaughter's drama club presentation of "Property Rights"

Sunday...cleaned roof and gutters, removed more deck boards from deck surrounding oval pool, joists need some work (future thread), washed and waxed my "guts, glory, RAM",  spliced some eyes on new mooring pennant lines

Monday...out looking for new shoulder... sledge and crowbar for decking removal put a kink in the ole armor, need new knee pads to replace my Rooster 309's might have to look at the 1" felt models...leather's good but felt is flattened...

Tuesday... I'm gonna write in one of you guys...who wants to be President...?

Rest of the week...finish the deck

Rant follows...

Who needs daylight in the morning...what's up with that ?!?!?...I need it at night...feeling like a vampire...go to work in the dark, get home in the dark...CHEEEZZ...Remember the cartoon image of two vultures sitting on a branch...one turned to the other..."Patience my a$$, I'm gonna kill something"

Rant over...

Not me. Not enough time in my schedule.

Saw a poster with three vultures on a branch. Caption read "The family that preys together, stays together"

@Ron Dudelston - good luck with the election tomorrow and all of the duties this week. Does your county still run poling places or vote by mail? Here in my county, it is vote by mail, which I turned in last Friday so I now have the right to complain :D :P

Split my time between the shop and getting ready for elk season this week.

Wanted to do 48 but ran out of blanks at 46.  Must not have counted right or a couple are hiding somewhere.

Nicely done Dan...just never figured on you allowing someone to go around "topless"

We have 2 central polling places for Election Day.  We have been early voting for 2 weeks and the traveling boards are out today.

Thanks Dab for being vigilant! And thanks again for being here and contributing.

Actually it's not an ad, it's a public service announcement that was put up lastnight and will run through Veterans Day. If you click on it, you'll be taken to a blog that describes how you, or anyone can donate a little time to our active duty military by making pens at your nearest Woodcraft store, at no cost to you!

The pens are then sent to our men and women who put it all on the line for you and I, keeping us safe from the bad guys.

You had me concerned Dab, I thought perhaps an ad bug came on here and was bothering our contributors.

Thanks again Dab!

Also that announcement should be showing to our guests as well. Thanks for bringing that to our attention!:)

You'll find that our community does not involve itself in advertising gimmicks that other forums do. We are an open book, what you see is what you get.

Thanks again Dab.
