October 29, 20169 yr I have the Hitachi M12VC, 2 1/4 HP router in my router table. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced router lift that will accept this router? Edited November 24, 20178 yr by Ron Dudelston tags added
October 29, 20169 yr What are you comsidering reasonable? Of I remember correctly, the Oct issue of WOOD had a tool review on a whole slew of router lifts. That might be of some help
October 29, 20169 yr Do you really want one? I think that's the router used for many years on "The Router Workshop" show, and Rosendahl didn't use a lift with it. Of course i could be wrong about the model.

That might be of some help Under $200,00 would be within my price range. I did see the WOOD issue with the reviews. There was only one listed that could be used with the Hitachi, and it was priced over $300.00. Fred, Guess I really don't need one. Just getting lazier as the senior years pass. The router itself has really performed well for me. I like the variable speed, and I believe it is definitely the quietest router on the market. Nothing like the noise of my old PC.
October 29, 20169 yr What is it about the Hitachi that makes it hard to find a lift for it? Is it the motor case size? Just found this one... would it work?

Al, I just got an email from Peachtree...not sure what difference between M12V & yours might be...but looks like the model 100 might work...check your email too...I forwarded the email to you; Enter code RTR22 during check-out for the $62.99 price... October 29, 20169 yr Author Gene, It looks like that lifter would work, but the attached plate is 9 1/4 X 11 3/4. The plate in my router table is only 8 X 11. The motor measures about 3 1/4" in diameter Dave, Ditto with the Router Raizer 100. IT doesn't include the plate but plates are available, but only in sizes larger than the plate in my table. What I'm not certain of is whether I would have the clearance needed to attach the lifter to my smaller plate, or if I would have to enlarge the existing cutout in my table top to fit a larger plate. At least I know lifters are available. Now, I guess I'll have to decide if I really want to mess with my table top. Thanks to you both for the info. Al, I did a little more research on the Router Raizer and found a website; first link below. They have individual PDF files available for all router models they list as compatible to their product. Looks like they just added the M12VC and a few others to their compatible list. From what I understand, this will work with any current plate or even no plate for that matter. Minor modifications are made to current mounting & router base plate for the lift to operate. from what I can tell, this lift only works with plunge base routers and replaces some of those components. I haven't investigated enough to understand if the router will no longer operate as a hand-held plunge router after modification. I guess if it doesn't then you gain a compelling reason to buy an additional router. I'm sending a copy of the M12VC instructions to you via email. October 31, 20169 yr Author Well Dave, after all of your research on my behalf, it turns out that my router has the fixed base only. The router can be purchased with a fixed base and a plunge base. Based on what I'm seeing, the kit with both bases is apparently KM12VC. In order to attach the unit to the lifter lifter, the motor has mounted in the plunge base. Must be a halloween prank.. Hope I'll be able to locate a plunge base for it now. Maybe ebay? Sincere thanks for your efforts. Edited October 31, 20169 yr by It Was Al B

Sincere thanks for your efforts. No problem; didn't mind the research since I had hoped I could adapt the kit to my Craftsman in my table but it's fixed base too. I really don't want to change out with my combo kit. Gene's option may be the better way to go unless we (I) can find a like new plunge base at one of the local Pawn shops...occasionally find a good deal. I really don't need another router though.

November 2, 20169 yr Author Wow Dave, I think you've been accused of blasphemy, when it comes to the terms "don't need" and "enough" as applied to routers.
